I finally have finished a general update to the main page of this site. It took me a while to start figuring out where I wanted this design to go. I perhaps went through six or seven different designs before I started to hone in on what I finally decided to go with. And while I am generally pleased with it, I am by no means done with it.
I do not think I ever call a project done. There are times when you just cannot do any more with the time available and other constraints, but whenever I have to wrap something up, I always find things that I can improve upon for the next time. This site is no exception.
The nice thing that this site affords me is the ability to iterate often. That is assuming that I have time to work on it. Currently, business is still relatively slow as I attempt to build up a client base. I am working, just not as consistently as I would like. So, in the meantime, I get to play around with personal projects.
One thing I tried to do was work with a layout that I have not tried before. Specifically a full-bleed, single page layout. It seems to be a popular style currently and I wanted to try it out to see if it works for me. I think while I am getting started and have limited content to display it works. Later, it may not.
